On 6 February 2026, the European Union published Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/274 in the Official Journal confirming a significant adjustment to the anti-dumping duties applicable to certain ceramic tableware and kitchenware products imported from the People’s Republic of China. This legal measure was adopted by the European Commission following review procedures under EU trade defence rules.
Under the new regulation, the definitive anti-dumping duty rates previously ranging between 13.1% and 36.1% for the defined product categories have been uniformly increased to 79.0%. The adjustment applies to imports falling under specified CN (Combined Nomenclature) codes covering ceramic tableware, kitchenware and related articles, as defined in the regulation’s scope. The measure is legally binding and enforceable across all 27 EU Member States.
The revised duty rate took effect upon entry into force of the regulation after publication in the Official Journal, and it is set to remain in place for a period of five years unless amended by subsequent review, expiry, or sunset review processes. The purpose of this adjustment is to address continued or renewed concerns about dumping practices – imports sold at prices below fair market value, that have been determined to injure the EU domestic industry producing like products.
Importers, customs authorities, and supply chain stakeholders should ensure compliance with the updated duty rate, as EU Customs will apply the 79.0% rate when assessing and collecting duties on relevant imports from China.
